President S M NkomoPRESIDENT NKOMO CALLS FOR ZAPU'S GENERIC BASE TO RETURN

IT IS TIME TO COME HOME

A lot has been said and done. I am the first to admit this. The premise of the founding principles of our movement were based on the fundamentals of FAMILY. Total trust, total love, total dedication and total devotion to each other as the children of Zimbabwe. In ZAPU we are a family, first and foremost. We had family unity before any constitution was drafted. We were a family of comrades who shared a camaraderie that enabled those ideas of revolution and freedom to sprout into the formidable force that brought colonialism to its knees. That said. Show me a family that claims to be perfect and I'll show you a family of liars. No family is perfect. No one is perfect. That is a cardinal reality.

When we achieved self determination, the social dynamics of our country saw a cruel tyrannical political entity turn our diversity into a weapon and weaponised tribe amongst other things. It worsened once they had their hands on state machinery. Killing people indiscriminately. Our own people.

While imperfect, our movement has never ever breached the codes of ethics and morals that every Zimbabwean earned by virtue of the blood spilt by our Zipra forces in the liberation struggle.
For decades now our electorate has borrowed their votes to many intolerable and clearly incompetent political parties with the hope that by lending them their vote, it would dislodge ZANU PF. This experiment has failed. It has failed repeatedly. It has failed miserably.

They say the definition of foolishness is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. It is time to bring our vote back home to ZAPU. Let us put our own Councillors into local government. Let us put our own MPs into the National Assembly. Let us put our own people into the senate. Our competence and rigorous constitutionalism will eventually show Zimbabwe that ZAPU is the only credible movement that can, and will, bring change to our deserving country.

Let us begin the great return home. Home to ZAPU.
Bantwana Bantwana, wozani ekhaya!
